A weekly visit for Chalida, 79, who lives alone in Bangkok
Chalida lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Chalida, who's 79. Chalida lives alone in Bangkok, and lost a son last year. The nearest family lives a long flight away.
Chalida loves opera, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Thursday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Hope things get better soon. Hope you get there. Thinking of Bangkok.
Stay strong. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Blessings!
Sending good thoughts. Looking forward to the next update. Wish I lived closer to Pune so I could bring a meal!

Wishing Chalida a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless.

So sorry you're going through this, Darunee. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I hope March is when things finally get easier.
Best of luck, Darunee. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
