A weekly visit for Akinyi, 72, who lives alone in Mwanza

Akinyi lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Akinyi, who's 72. Akinyi lives alone in Mwanza, and lost a lifelong friend last year. The nearest family lives several hours away. Akinyi loves cricket, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Friday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
