A weekly visit for Adewale, 92, who lives alone in Kaduna

Adewale lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Adewale, who's 92. Adewale lives alone in Kaduna, and lost a son last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country. Adewale loves chess, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Sunday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

    • Sending strength, Comfort. Shared it with a few friends. Wish I lived closer to Abuja so I could bring a meal. Thinking of Kaduna

        • Stay strong. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
