A weekly ride to Thessaloniki General Hospital for Nikos

A rota of drivers to Thessaloniki General Hospital would keep Nikos on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.

Nikos has been on dialysis for 5 years and until recently drove to Thessaloniki General Hospital alone. After a minor stroke, Nikos can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 9 km each way. Nikos is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. Thank you for reading my story.
