Vijay has been on dialysis for 5 years and until recently drove to the Thiruvananthapuram Dialysis Unit alone. After a foot amputation, Vijay can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 8 km each way. Vijay is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

  • Hope things get better soon, Varsha. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless!

So sorry you're going through this. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I have a 16 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
