A weekly ride to the Mapo Dialysis Unit for Hye-won

A rota of drivers to the Mapo Dialysis Unit would keep Hye-won on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.

Mapo
Hye-won has been on dialysis for 3 years and until recently drove to the Mapo Dialysis Unit alone. After surgery on their hand, Hye-won can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 22 km each way. Hye-won is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. Thank you for reading my story.

      • Keep going. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. After 27 years in engineering I know how hard it is to ask for anything.
