Orla has been on dialysis for 1 years and until recently drove to the Limerick Dialysis Unit alone. After surgery on their hand, Orla can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 8 km each way. Orla is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. Thank you for reading my story.

  • Sending good thoughts. It takes guts to ask. Well done. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry!

    • Thinking of you, Padraig. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Love from Cincinnati.

      • Shared this with my family. Sent it to 30 people at work. Take care.
