A weekly ride to the Ikeja Kidney Centre for Gbenga
Gbenga needs dialysis three times a week and has lost the ability to drive; volunteer drivers can each take one day.
🇳🇬 Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria261 views
Gbenga has been on dialysis for 2 years and until recently drove to the Ikeja Kidney Centre alone. After an eyesight problem, Gbenga can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week.
We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 19 km each way.
Gbenga is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food.
Please say which day works for you in the comments.
Thanks for being kind about this.
