Armando has been on dialysis for 1 years and until recently drove to the Ciudad de México Dialysis Unit alone. After an eyesight problem, Armando can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 15 km each way. Armando is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

  • Best of luck, Josefa. Hope you get there. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Blessings.

    • Hope it all works out, Josefa. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Blessings.

      • hope things get better soon, Josefa. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.

          • hope it all works out. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected!
