A weekly ride to the Bogor Dialysis Unit for Lestari

A rota of drivers to the Bogor Dialysis Unit would keep Lestari on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.

Lestari has been on dialysis for 1 years and until recently drove to the Bogor Dialysis Unit alone. After a minor stroke, Lestari can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 11 km each way. Lestari is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. Thank you so much.

  • Stay strong, Utami. Shared it with a few friends

    • Wishing Lestari a smooth procedure and a full recovery. God bless

      • Hope things get better soon. Your post was clear and honest. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Bogor

        • Hope the doctors have good news. After 8 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

          • Hope things get better soon, Utami. Hope you get there.
