Charlotte has been on dialysis for 1 years and until recently drove to the Birmingham Dialysis Unit alone. After surgery on their hand, Charlotte can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 32 km each way. Charlotte is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. Thank you for reading my story.

  • Sending good thoughts. I hope things turn around soon. I went through something like this 2 years ago and strangers helped me out

    • Gave what I could, wish it was more. Thinking of Birmingham

      • Sending strength, Cameron. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest.

        • Hang in there, Cameron. This could happen to any of us. I have a 16 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
