A weekly ride to the Asaba Kidney Centre for Comfort

A rota of drivers to the Asaba Kidney Centre would keep Comfort on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.

Comfort has been on dialysis for 4 years and until recently drove to the Asaba Kidney Centre alone. After a minor stroke, Comfort can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 28 km each way. Comfort is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

                              • Stay strong, Adewale. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. After 20 years in teaching I know how hard it is to ask for anything.
