A weekly ride to Mekelle General Hospital for Leul
A rota of drivers to Mekelle General Hospital would keep Leul on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.
🇪🇹 Mekelle, Tigray, Ethiopia989 views
Leul has been on dialysis for 2 years and until recently drove to Mekelle General Hospital alone. After an eyesight problem, Leul can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week.
We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 14 km each way.
Leul is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food.
Please say which day works for you in the comments.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Sending love. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
