A weekly ride to Entebbe Regional Medical Center for Tumusiime

A rota of drivers to Entebbe Regional Medical Center would keep Tumusiime on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.

Tumusiime has been on dialysis for 5 years and until recently drove to Entebbe Regional Medical Center alone. After surgery on their hand, Tumusiime can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 33 km each way. Tumusiime is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

    • Sending strength, Hamisi. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Entebbe.

Wishing you the best, Hamisi. Shared it with a few friends. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. All the best.
