A solar-powered water pump for the Unity vacant lot: help our neighbors in Dhaka
Volunteers in Dhaka are raising $300 for a solar-powered water pump at the Unity vacant lot.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 237 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $300 goes:
• Materials: $185
• Permits and inspections: $30
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
• Tools hire and delivery: $45
