A solar-powered water pump for the Pioneer vacant lot: help our neighbors in Aurangabad
Volunteers in Aurangabad are raising $400 for a solar-powered water pump at the Pioneer vacant lot.
🇮🇳 Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India1,163 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 135 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $400 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
• Permits and inspections: $25
• Materials: $330
With deep gratitude,
Babu

Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Aurangabad.
good luck, Babu. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. God bless
So sorry you're going through this, Babu. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend
Hope it all works out. Looking forward to the next update. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care
Thinking of you and your family, Babu. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer
