A community-led a solar-powered water pump at the Lotus vacant lot that will serve 106 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $1,450.
It will serve about 106 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,450 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $310
• Permits and inspections: $200
• Materials: $940
Glad we found this place.
