A solar-powered water pump for Acacia Park: help our neighbors in Hamilton
A community-led a solar-powered water pump at Acacia Park that will serve 548 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Park, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,500.
It will serve about 548 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,500 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $450
• Tools hire and delivery: $380
• Materials: $1,670
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Thank you all. We're at 12% now ($301). I'm honestly stunned. we've started the first stage.
Quick update: $973 raised so far (39%). the first invoice got paid this week. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
Update from Hamilton: the plan for safety equipment and signage is now scheduled. We're at 38% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
