A community-led a solar-powered water pump at the old Union bus depot that will serve 467 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Union bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $900.
It will serve about 467 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $900 goes:
• Materials: $650
• Permits and inspections: $80
• Safety equipment and signage: $95
• Tools hire and delivery: $75
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from San Jose
