For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $900.
It will serve about 265 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $900 goes:
• Materials: $710
• Permits and inspections: $65
• Safety equipment and signage: $90
• Tools hire and delivery: $35
Thank you so much.
