A skate park for the Liberty community hall: help our neighbors in Bakersfield
A community-led a skate park at the Liberty community hall that will serve 538 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $570, and the remaining cost is $4,050.
It will serve about 538 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $4,050 goes:
• Materials: $3,050
• Permits and inspections: $130
• Safety equipment and signage: $440
• Tools hire and delivery: $430
