For five years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda community hall, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $1,700. It will serve about 593 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $1,700 goes: • Materials: $1,150 • Permits and inspections: $250 • Safety equipment and signage: $300 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Marilyn
