A skate park for Liberty Primary School: help our neighbors in Ikeja
Volunteers in Ikeja are raising $400 for a skate park at Liberty Primary School.
Anywhere in the world990 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 383 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $400 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $40
• Materials: $320
• Tools hire and delivery: $40
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
