A skate park: a volunteer-led effort in Tampa
Volunteers in Tampa are raising $2,250 for a skate park at Freedom Park.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Freedom Park, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,250.
It will serve about 470 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.

• Tools hire and delivery: $370
• Permits and inspections: $230
• Materials: $1,650
