A community-led a skate park at the Pioneer health centre yard that will serve 579 neighbors.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $900.
It will serve about 579 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $900 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $80
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Materials: $770
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
