A skate park: a volunteer-led effort in Ciudad de México
A community-led a skate park at the Pioneer community hall that will serve 285 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $1,100.
It will serve about 285 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Materials: $860
• Permits and inspections: $65
• Safety equipment and signage: $95
• Tools hire and delivery: $80
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Rooting for you, Daniela. More neighborhoods should do this.
Praying for you. Your post was clear and honest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings
Stay strong. Looking forward to the next update. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Greetings from Wudil.
