Shreveport

Lucía served twelve years in the marines and was discharged in 2023 with a service-related knee injury. She has been waiting seven months for support, and meanwhile is sleeping at a brother's place. The plan: a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment. The quote comes to $2,650. Lucían is receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and is committed to recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces. I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden. Where the $2,650 goes: • Transport to appointments: $510 • Housing deposit and first month: $970 • Training provider fees: $1,170 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Rubén

Updates from Rubén

Small update. $494 so far, we've booked the dates and paid the deposit.
Thank you all. We're at 12% now ($329). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward transport to appointments.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($218 in total) I made the first payment toward housing deposit and first month. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
