A service dog for Mercy, a navy veteran in Ibadan
Mercy served fourteen years in the navy; $550 would cover a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment.

I served fourteen years in the navy and was discharged in 2024 with hearing damage and PTSD. I have been waiting seven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment. The quote I have comes to $550.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly.
Where the $550 goes:
• Essential household items: $35
• Housing deposit and first month: $320
• Training provider fees: $195
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
