I served eight years in the engineering corps and was discharged in 2024 with a back injury. I have been waiting seven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a vocational welding course and tools. The quote I have comes to $4,000.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly.
Where the $4,000 goes:
• Training provider fees: $1,600
• Housing deposit and first month: $1,400
• Transport to appointments: $450
• Essential household items: $550
Thank you for reading my story.

Sending love, Liam. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Guadalajara so I could bring a meal. Take care.
Your post was clear and honest. I have a 9 year old who wants to send good wishes too. God bless.
