A community-led a sensory garden for children with autism at the old Sycamore bus depot that will serve 386 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Sycamore bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $135, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 386 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $410
• Permits and inspections: $20
• Safety equipment and signage: $30
• Tools hire and delivery: $40
