A sensory garden for children with autism for the old Maple bus depot: help our neighbors in Rohini
Volunteers in Rohini are raising $500 for a sensory garden for children with autism at the old Maple bus depot.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Maple bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $170, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 399 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $500 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $20
• Materials: $450
• Tools hire and delivery: $30
