A sensory garden for children with autism for the Liberty health centre yard: help our neighbors in Pretoria
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a sensory garden for children with autism - we need $700 for materials.
🇿🇦 Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa1,513 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $700.
It will serve about 502 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $700 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $120
• Materials: $410
• Tools hire and delivery: $170
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Thinking of you, Thabisa. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes!
Praying for you, Thabisa. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Thinking of Pretoria.
