A sensory garden for children with autism for Lotus Primary School: help our neighbors in Surakarta
Volunteers in Surakarta are raising $500 for a sensory garden for children with autism at Lotus Primary School.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 375 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $380
• Safety equipment and signage: $70
• Permits and inspections: $50
