Marrakesh
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Unity Park, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $150. It will serve about 502 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $150 goes: • Permits and inspections: $35 • Tools hire and delivery: $70 • Safety equipment and signage: $45 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly. - Charlotte

  • is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Charlotte.

Sure. The biggest one is permits and inspections, $35. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Ask me anything else.

  • Hang in there. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Please keep us posted.
