A sensory garden for children with autism: a volunteer-led effort in San Francisco
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a sensory garden for children with autism - we need $2,200 for materials.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,200.
It will serve about 410 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.

• Materials: $1,200
• Permits and inspections: $200
• Safety equipment and signage: $420
• Tools hire and delivery: $380

Rooting for you. Hope this works out for you. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
So sorry you're going through this. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
