A sensory garden for children with autism: a volunteer-led effort in Alcalá de Henares
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a sensory garden for children with autism - we need $2,350 for materials.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $2,350.
It will serve about 251 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,350 goes:
• Materials: $1,900
• Permits and inspections: $100
• Safety equipment and signage: $170
• Tools hire and delivery: $180
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I went through something like this 12 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Alcalá de Henares.
