For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $250. It will serve about 535 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $250 goes: • Materials: $155 • Safety equipment and signage: $50 • Tools hire and delivery: $45 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Updates from Nana

  1. Thank you all. We're at 20% now ($50). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward tools hire and delivery.

  2. We're at 34% thanks to 2 of you. I made the first payment toward safety equipment and signage. More news soon.
