A repair café workshop for the Sycamore community hall: help our neighbors in Toronto
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a repair café workshop - we need $1,850 for materials.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $1,850.
It will serve about 189 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,850 goes:
• Materials: $1,150
• Permits and inspections: $240
• Safety equipment and signage: $270
• Tools hire and delivery: $190
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Sending strength, Suresh. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My neighbor in Bogotá donated after I showed her your page.
thinking of you and your family, Suresh. Shared it with a few friends. Thinking of Toronto.
