A repair café workshop for the Freedom vacant lot: help our neighbors in Dasmariñas
Volunteers in Dasmariñas are raising $700 for a repair café workshop at the Freedom vacant lot.
🇵🇭 Dasmariñas, Cavite, Philippines962 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $210, and the remaining cost is $700.
It will serve about 90 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $700 goes:
• Materials: $590
• Permits and inspections: $15
• Safety equipment and signage: $55
• Tools hire and delivery: $40
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
