A repair café workshop for Lotus Park: help our neighbors in Cebu City
A community-led a repair café workshop at Lotus Park that will serve 494 neighbors.
🇵🇭 Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines1,148 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Park, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $600.
It will serve about 494 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $600 goes:
• Materials: $440
• Permits and inspections: $45
• Safety equipment and signage: $60
• Tools hire and delivery: $55
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Hope this works out for you. I have a 8 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Greetings from Kediri.
Great idea, hope you get there. Put this on a community board in São Paulo this morning.
Stay strong, Maria. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Jakarta so I could bring a meal
Hang in there. Hope this works out for you. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Take care.
