A ramp for Yamini: volunteers and tools needed

Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Cambridge.

Yamini has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Yamini can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Yamini's family will cook lunch for the team. I hope life is good to you.

      • Take care. I hope things turn around soon. After 23 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
