A ramp for Uwe: volunteers and tools needed

Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Nuremberg.

Uwe has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Uwe can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Uwe's family will cook lunch for the team. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • Good luck, Anton. Get well soon. Thinking of Nuremberg.

    • Best of luck, Anton. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Dwarka!

      • Thinking of you and your family. Shared this with my family. Put this on a community board in Tlaquepaque this morning.
