A ramp for Tyler: volunteers and tools needed
Help Tyler regain independence: a simple ramp build.
π¬π§ Birmingham, England, United Kingdom920 views
Tyler has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Tyler can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Tyler's family will cook lunch for the team.

Take care, Lydia. I hope things turn around soon. I'll check back for the next update. Love from Oakland.
