A ramp for Thulani: volunteers and tools needed
Help Thulani regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇿🇦 Gauteng, South Africa472 views
Thulani has used a wheelchair since 2022, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Thulani can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Thulani's family will cook lunch for the team.
I hope life is good to you.

keep going, Palesa. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Love from Memphis.
Best of luck. I hope things turn around soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best
