A ramp for Tayyaba: volunteers and tools needed
Tayyaba uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.
🇵🇰 Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan1,629 views
Tayyaba has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Tayyaba can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Tayyaba's family will cook lunch for the team.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Wishing you peace, Samina. Hope this works out for you. Sent it to 18 people at work. All the best
take care, Samina. Shared it with a few friends. I have a 9 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
Thinking of you and your family, Samina. Gave what I could, wish it was more. After 22 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from São Paulo
Keep going. Your post was clear and honest. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Poznań.
Hope things get better soon, Samina. Hope you get there.
