A ramp for Sophie: volunteers and tools needed
Sophie uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Sophie has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Sophie can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Sophie's family will cook lunch for the team.

Wishing you peace, Mackenzie. I hope things turn around soon. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. All the best.
Thanks for sharing this. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My husband and I read this together. Take care
