A ramp for Roman: volunteers and tools needed
Help Roman regain independence: a simple ramp build.
๐บ๐ธ Louisiana, United States1,287 views
Roman has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Roman can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Roman's family will cook lunch for the team.
