A ramp for Randall: volunteers and tools needed
Help Randall regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇺🇸 Montgomery, Alabama, United States784 views
Randall has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Randall can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Randall's family will cook lunch for the team.

Thinking of you and your family, Vivian. I hope things turn around soon. Don't give up.
A colleague of mine might know someone for this in Alabama. I'll ask around and let you know.
Wishing you peace, Vivian. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best.
Thinking of you, Vivian. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest.
