A ramp for Parvathi: volunteers and tools needed
Help Parvathi regain independence: a simple ramp build.
š®š³ Siliguri, West Bengal, India1,432 views
Parvathi has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Parvathi can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Parvathi's family will cook lunch for the team.
Thank you for reading my story.

Good luck, Vasanthi. It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 22 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.
Hang in there, Vasanthi. Hope this works out for you. We're a small family in Malang but we're thinking of you.
