A ramp for Naledi: volunteers and tools needed

Naledi uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Naledi has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Naledi can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Naledi's family will cook lunch for the team. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

        • Hang in there, Rashid. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings
